Applications being taken for scholarships for UNT Speech and Hearing Center services for children
DENTON (UNT), Texas - The University of North Texas Speech and Hearing Center is offering scholarships that will allow children in the second through seventh grades to attend the center's weekly therapy for delays in reading, writing and other literacy-language skills.

UNT students upcycle materials to create Halloween costumes and help a worthy cause
What: A unique Halloween exhibit featuring costumes made by University of North Texas design students will benefit the Denton County Friends of the Family, a local nonprofit. The costumes will be created from materials from the Friends of the Family Thrift Store, which assists individuals and families who are victims of domestic violence and sexual assault. Purchase with a purpose: UNT student forms nonprofit after 2016 Dallas police shootings
DENTON (UNT), Texas — A University of North Texas student found his calling for helping others following last year’s July 7 ambush of police officers in downtown Dallas, which left five officers dead.
“The Dallas shooting was bad, but it sparked a fire in me and I’m going to let that fire shine bright,” said Ipinoluwa “Ipi” Adedokun, a junior majoring in finance.
