Professor and department chair of the UNT College of Engineering’s Department of Materials Science and Engineering has filed a patent on a new laser technology he and his research associate developed for cutting and shaping bone that causes minimal damage to the surrounding tissue and bones, could speed up surgery and recovery times, and even lessen the amount of blood lost during operations.
UNT will install the advanced Collaborative Adaptive Sensing of the Atmosphere (CASA) radar on April 11 (Thursday), which will provide improved severe weather data and storm warnings to the North Texas region, just in time for the 2013 tornado season.
