UNT Media Arts students, faculty bring home awards from Festival of Media Arts, Emmys and Telly Awards
DENTON (UNT), Texas -- University of North Texas Media Arts students and faculty have earned a dozen awards from prominent organizations including the Broadcast Education Association, Lone Star Emmy Chapter of the National Association of Television Arts and Sciences, and the National Telly Awards. College of Music lecturer uses grant to showcase UNT's talents at the Dallas Museum of Art
DENTON (UNT), Texas -- University of North Texas College of Music's Elizabeth McNutt, flute principal lecturer and director of the Nova new music ensemble, has been awarded a grant by the Earle Brown Music Foundation that is allowing her to highlight UNT's diverse musical and cultural programs at the Dallas Museum of Art. UNT to expand low-cost autism services
DENTON (UNT), Texas -- The Kristin Farmer Autism Center at the University of North Texas has received a $167,000 grant to expand its low-cost autism services to additional families.
The grant, awarded by the Texas Department of Assistive and Rehabilitative Services, will allow the autism center to serve up to 28 families who may not be able to afford the costs of intensive autism treatment.

Poet Rick Barot named 2016 UNT Rilke Prize winner
DENTON (UNT), Texas - Rick Barot was named the 2016 UNT Rilke Prize winner for his book of poetry, “Chord.” The $10,000 prize, sponsored by UNT’s Department of English, recognizes a book published by a mid-career poet that demonstrates exceptional artistry and vision.

UNT spring enrollment continues upward trend as 35,141 students enroll
DENTON (UNT), Texas - Spring enrollment at the University of North Texas increased over 2015 with 35,141 students enrolled. In addition, students are taking more class hours, indicating a continued focus on academic achievement.
This comes on the heels of UNT’s designation as a Tier One research institution by the Carnegie Classification of Institutions of Higher Education, which is the highest classification a university can earn.
