UNT art project depicts plight of three generations of Kurdish women under rule of Saddam Hussein, ISIS
DENTON (UNT), Texas - A project in a University of North Texas graduate art class depicts the plight of three generations of Kurds who have lived under the Saddam Hussein regime and, now, ISIS.
Joy Ellis, who took a class in the College of Visual Arts during the fall 2015 semester, made an intricately detailed book featuring the stories of the Kurdish family from Iraq who were refugees in Iran. She got the stories from her sister who lives in Iraq with her husband, a worker for a non-governmental organization there....

DENTON (UNT), Texas -- The inviting new design of the University of North Texas University Union's Syndicate makes it the perfect place to catch Wednesday night jazz this spring. The Grammy-nominated One O'Clock Lab Band will begin the popular series on Feb. 3.

DENTON (UNT), Texas -- From women making major strides in politics, to the military opening all combat roles to females, it has been a year to celebrate strong women. The University of North Texas College of Music opera program is echoing this theme for their spring 2016 season.
