DENTON (UNT), Texas -- Parades, picnics and Powder Puff Football are just some of the events scheduled for the University of North Texas' Homecoming festivities taking place Oct. 5 – 10. This year's theme is "Forever Mean Green: A Journey through Time."

The celebration is a collaboration between Mean Green Athletics and the Division of Student Affairs. All of the events are open to UNT students, faculty, staff, alumni and community members.

Kandice Horton, the student director of the 2015 homecoming crew, said this year's celebration is going to be one to remember.

"This year is very special to our university because we are celebrating our 125th year, which means homecoming will be filled with even more spirit, pride and tradition," Horton said.

Highlights of the festivities include a powder puff football game on Oct. 5, Spirit Day on Oct. 7, the Spirit March and Bonfire on Oct. 9, and the homecoming parade and football game on Oct. 10.

Registration for the homecoming parade ends Sept. 18, and registration for the homecoming tailgate ends Sept. 30. Find registration forms for the two events here.
