DENTON, Texas (UNT) – Students and faculty from the University of North Texas' College of Music will perform classical, jazz, world and other genres this fall as part of the Thursday Night Music series at UNT on the Square.

The performances take place from 7 to 9 p.m. beginning Sept. 10 at UNT on the Square, 109 N. Elm St.

The series has attracted visitors from Denton's historic downtown square who may not otherwise visit the gallery, said Herbert Holl, director of the Institute for the Advancement of the Arts, the creative arm of UNT that runs UNT on the Square.

"It continues to make the point that although we are a gallery, we're not exclusively a gallery," Holl said. "We have programs representing all of the arts, plus other disciplines."

Visitors can listen to the music while exploring the gallery's exhibitions. "Fulfillment Center," displaying works inspired by India by Susan Cheal, associate professor of drawing and painting at UNT, runs until Sept. 22. The CVAD Alumni Exhibition, featuring pieces by graduates of UNT's College of Visual Arts and Design, will be shown from Oct. 9-28.
