CVAD welcomes artist Emmy Bright for the Spring, Summer 2023 exhibition

What: Emmy Bright at the University of North Texas as part of the CVAD Gallery and Mary Jo and V. Lane Rawlins Fine Arts Series.

When: Exhibition on view March 21 - July 8, 2023. A special performance and participatory karaoke will take place from 7 to 9 p.m. March 24 in the UNT Art Building Courtyard. Food and drinks will be provided.

Where: CVAD Gallery – UNT Art Building, Room 160, 1201 W Mulberry Street, Denton, TX  76201

Hours:

Tuesday, Wednesday, Friday, and Saturday: Noon- 5:00 pm

Thursday: Noon- 8:00 pm

Sunday-Monday: Closed

UNT Parking Permit Holders: Please follow Transportation Services parking rules and regulations in regard to your designated pass.

Non-UNT Parking Permits: Hourly public parking is available at the Highland Street Garage. The garage is located at the corner of Central Avenue and West Highland Street with easy access to the Union via the West Highland Street entrance.

Background:

Emmy Bright creates art with a variety of mediums. 

Her exhibition It Gets Better, or It Doesn’t at UNT will feature over 35 of her works including prints, drawings, sculptures, quilts and videos – examining a wide variety of emotions and contemporary culture. 

The Mary Jo and V. Lane Rawlins Fine Arts Series Livestream Performance will be the exhibition opening reception from 7 to 9 p.m. March 24.

She has taught at Rhode Island School of Design and City College New York and she has been a visiting artist for the Museum School in Boston, Brown University and the RISD Museum. She has created works for the DeCordova Museum and Sculpture Park and Brown University. She currently lives and works in Detroit and is head of the print media department at Cranbrook Academy of Art in Bloomfield Hills, Michigan, where she is also artist in residence.
