DENTON (UNT), Texas — The University of North Texas earned recognition for its online graduate and undergraduate programs in U.S. News & World Report’s 2025 Best Online Programs rankings. UNT’s programs were ranked among the nation’s best in seven categories, reflecting the university’s commitment to providing flexible, high-quality education.

UNT’s standout online program rankings include:

  • 3 for Online Graduate Education, up from No. 5 in 2024, and No. 17 for Curriculum and Instruction
  • 21 for Online Undergraduate Business, marking a new addition to UNT’s accolades
  • 24 for Online Criminal Justice
  • 25 for Online Bachelor’s Programs
  • 44 for Online M.B.A. for Veterans
  • 75 for Online M.B.A.

“The rise in our rankings demonstrates the College of Education’s unwavering commitment to student success,” said Rudi Thompson, interim dean of UNT’s College of Education. “Our graduate education programs are designed to prepare students to excel as educators and leaders, offering both rigor and flexibility to meet the needs of today’s professionals.”

The university’s online bachelor’s programs also saw a substantial improvement, climbing 16 spots to No. 25. This ranking underscores UNT’s focus on accessible, innovative education tailored to meet students’ needs.

UNT offers 90 online program options spanning bachelor’s, master’s and doctoral degrees — along with undergraduate and graduate certificates. Many programs provide flexible learning options at the Denton and Frisco campuses.
