Know before you go.
DENTON (UNT), Texas — Whether you live on campus or you’re commuting — walking, riding the bus, biking or skateboarding — we’ve got tips to help you get where you need to go. From parking to bus routes to bike racks, knowing how to navigate campus and where to find resources can set you up for success at UNT.

And speaking of resources, UNT has a new mobile app called UNT Go that connects you with important information and services, like class schedules and Canvas, UNT Dining, campus events and more.

What’s the deal with parking?

UNT has a new interface for permit purchases. In the new portal, students can manage their parking account, order permits, see parking maps and more.

There’s also great news for the fall.

  • UNT is partnering with Village Church to offer what we’re calling “Lot 60.” Barring a few spaces for church staff, students can use the lot Monday through Friday, 7 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. — and it has almost 300 Eagle Commuter spaces!
  • We’ve reduced the rates for remote parking.

You can see the maps for all the lots, along with information on specific parking areas and parking permit types, on our Parking Services at UNT page.

What if I don’t drive a car?

No car? No problem — we’ve got resources for you, too.

  • Bicycles: Racks are located across campus outside most buildings and residence halls. The UNT Police Department offers free, engraved U-locks to help keep your bike secure.
  • Bike repair: There’s a bike repair station on the north side of the Union. UNT Transportation Services also hosts Mobile Bike Shops on campus three times a week — Tuesday through Thursday — during the long semesters. The Mobile Bike Shop will fix your bike at cost for the parts and there is no charge for labor.
  • Skateboards: Racks are available outside the University Union, on the Union Circle side.
  • Buses: UNT partners with DCTA to get students where they need to go. Buses run from Lot 20 to the center of campus and back, to and from Discovery Park (UNT’s hub for the College of Engineering) and several locations in between. Many apartments near campus have nearby bus stops. And it’s free for UNT students and employees! See the bus routes.

What’s with all the construction?
We know construction can be a drag, but UNT is partnering with the city of Denton to update key infrastructure to make our roads and underground systems better for years to come.

You can track construction projects and detours on our construction and roadwork site, which lists current and past projects.

Are Union Circle and the Union Garage really closed?
Yes. Union Circle, the main road to the Union, is closed through the fall semester. When it reopens, traffic will flow in the opposite direction to improve efficiency.

Don’t worry: The university has plans in place to keep food and product deliveries coming to the Union without disruption.

Maps to guide you.
UNT Facilities has maps for just about everything — parking, buildings, accessibility, campus renovations and more.

Having a plan to get to class, your favorite study spot or a dining location can help you get the most out of your UNT experience.
