U.S. News & World Report ranks several UNT graduate programs among nation’s best for 2020

Six University of North Texas graduate academic programs were ranked recently in the nation’s top 50 by U.S. News & World Report’s 2020 list of Best Graduate Schools. 

The Master of Public Administration (M.P.A.) program, part of the College of Health and Public Service, received several top rankings. The program’s specialty in homeland security and emergency management ranked first in Texas, fourth among public universities in the U.S. and fifth overall nationwide while the specialty in local government management ranked first in Texas, fifth among public universities and fifth overall in the nation.The program’s specialty in public finance and budgeting ranked second in Texas, 22nd among public universities and 27th overall in the nation.

Also in the College of Health and Public Service, the rehabilitation counseling graduate program ranked first in Texas, 11th among public universities and 12th overall in the nation.

The College of Education’s student counseling and personnel services graduate program also earned the first spot in Texas, 12th among public universities and a 14th ranking overall. 

The College of Engineering’s materials science and engineering graduate program placed third in Texas, 45th among public universities and 70th overall nationwide.
