DENTON (UNT), Texas – The University of North Texas will debut a course focused on the Hindi language in Spring 2022.

The language class will be housed in the Department of World Languages, Literatures and Cultures in the College of Liberal Arts and Social Sciences. The department also offers instruction in Arabic, Chinese, French, German, Italian, Japanese, and Latin.

UNT already has courses on Hinduism in the Department of Philosophy and Religion and has plans to add Jainism next year. This new course will be pure language instruction in Hindi, the primary language in India.

“UNT is committed to offering our students with a variety of course options that will equip them to be engaged global citizens and future leaders in our world,” said Jennifer Cowley, provost and vice president for academic affairs at UNT.

The Hindi course with prefix LANG 1010 is scheduled for 9:30 to 10:50 a.m. on Tuesdays and Thursdays.
