UNT groups recognize White Cane Day to raise awareness of issues related to visual impairments

What:           White Cane Day — Participants will use white canes to navigate the Denton courthouse square in an event celebrated nationally to raise awareness of issues related to blindness and low vision.

The event is hosted by the Denton Mayor’s Committee on People with Disabilities in partnership with the University of North Texas’ North Texas Rehabilitation Association and UNT’s Delta Alpha Pi Honor Society, an academic honor society for students with disabilities attending colleges/universities.

When:          Noon Oct. 15 (Tuesday)

Where:         Meet at UNT on the Square, 109 N. Elm St. Walk around the block to the front steps of the old Denton County Courthouse.
