DENTON (UNT), Texas — Online master’s degree programs in the University of North Texas College of Education have once again been named some of the best in the nation, according to new rankings released by U.S. News & World Report.
UNT’s online master’s degree programs in education rose to No. 5 in the nation and tied for No. 1 in Texas on this year’s list of Best Online Programs. UNT’s College of Education offers many online master’s-level programs including degrees in educational psychology, higher education and special education. In addition, the college has online certification programs in areas such as educational diagnostician and gifted and talented education.
Other nationally ranked programs include the online M.B.A. program (No. 52), online master’s degree in criminal justice (No. 29) and online bachelor’s degree programs (No. 74).
On the state level, the online bachelor’s degree programs ranked third in Texas, the online M.B.A. program took fourth and the online master’s degree in criminal justice came in at No. 5.
UNT offers seven online bachelor’s programs, one of which is a first-of-its-kind online Bachelor of Science in General Business degree. Overall, there are more than 80 online program options including bachelor's, master's and doctoral degrees and undergraduate and graduate certificates.
“To see many of our online programs place highly in national rankings is a testament to our commitment to enhancing our digital academic initiatives,” UNT President Neal Smatresk said. “We want to ensure that our students have the flexible options they need to excel and reach their educational and career goals.”
