Today (Thursday, July 17), a Malaysia Airlines passenger plane was shot down by a surface-to-air missile in Ukraine near the Russian border, according to Ukrainian officials. All 295 passengers and crew on the aircraft are believed dead, and the incident touched off immediate finger-pointing between Russian separatists and the Ukrainian government.
