UNT dance seniors create works for Nov. 21-24 New Choreographers Concert

What: New Choreographers Concert featuring works by senior dance students from UNT’s Department of Dance and Theatre.

When: 8 p.m. Nov. 21, 22, 23 and 2 p.m. Nov. 24

Where: University Theatre, room 104, in the RTFP building, 1179 Union Circle, on the corner of Welch and Chestnut streets in Denton.

Tickets: Tickets can be ordered with a credit card over the phone by calling 940-565-2428 or Metro 817-267-3731, ext. 2428. The box office is located in the first floor lobby of the University Theatre. The box office accepts cash, checks and credit cards.

DENTON (UNT), Texas — Senior dance students at the University of North Texas Department of Dance and Theatre will showcase their choreography in the New Choreographers Concert this month.

The concert is at 8 p.m. Nov. 21, 22 and 23 and 2 p.m. Nov. 24 at the University Theatre in the Radio, Television, Film and Performing Arts building, on the corner of Welch and Chestnut streets.

Under the artistic direction of Shelley Cushman, UNT professor of dance, the students choreograph pieces or dance as part of their final project. This year’s performance, titled “Enter Change,” refers to the myriad changes the students face as they prepare for graduation.

Student choreographers are: Maggie Beutner, Nathan Blaser, Allie Costello, Amanda Maraist, Leigh Marvin, Ashley Meeks, Mallory Miner, Emmanuel Silveyra, Natalie Tomlinson and Erin Whyte. Senior dancers are: Samantha Barakat, Jeanna Dunlap, Rosa Hernandez and Jacklyn Simone.

Admission is $5. Tickets can be ordered over the phone by calling 940-565-2428 or Metro 817-267-3731 ext. 2428. They also can be purchased in person at the department’s box office in the UNT Radio, Television, Film and Performing Arts building Room 104.
