UNT College of Business speaker series starts Sept. 19

DENTON (UNT), Texas -- Leaders in business will speak about careers, leadership skills and industry issues in the University of North Texas College of Business' Distinguished Speaker Series, beginning this month with a lecture from Jim Skinner, executive vice president, chief operating officer and chief financial officer of Neiman Marcus Group.

Skinner will speak from 10 to 11:30 a.m. Sept. 19 (Friday) in Room 170 of UNT's Business Leadership Building, 1307 W. Highland St.

Skinner, who has been with Neiman Marcus Group since 2001, is responsible for strategy, business development, finance, accounting, legal, real estate and construction, and logistics and distribution.

From 1991 to 2000, Skinner served at CompUSA Inc. in several positions, including executive vice president and chief financial officer. Prior to that, he spent 16 years at Ernst & Young, an international professional services firm, with his last four years as a partner. He has served on the board of directors of Fossil Inc. since 2007 and is chairman of the finance committee and a member of the compensation committee.
