DENTON (UNT), Texas — University of North Texas alumni and faculty members won or collaborated on projects that won awards across three categories at the 64th Annual Grammy Awards on Sunday (April 3).

Alumnus Daniel Fosse collaborated on the Tony Bennett and Lady Gaga album, “Love for Sale,” which took home the awards in the Best Engineered Album, Non-Classical, and Best Traditional Pop Vocal Album categories.

Alumni Lyle Mays, Gary Eckert and Rosana Eckert, who is a College of Music faculty member, worked together on “Eberhard,” which won for Best Instrumental Composition. 

Over the years, alumni, faculty and staff from the globally respected College of Music have worked on numerous Grammy-nominated and Grammy-winning projects. This year, more than a dozen UNT alumni and faculty earned nominations or collaborated on nominated projects.

BEST CHORAL PERFORMANCE

BEST INSTRUMENTAL COMPOSITION

• Alumnus Lyle Mays (posthumously) — “Eberhard”
• Alumnus Gary Eckert (vocals) — “Eberhard”
• Alumna and College of Music faculty member Rosana Eckert (vocals) — “Eberhard”
