DENTON (UNT), Texas -- After being cancelled in 2015 because of an ice storm, the Great Conversations dinner hosted by the University of North Honors College will return Feb. 23 (Tuesday).

Great Conversations allows participants to choose to be seated for dinner at a table hosted by a specific conversation leader. The conversation leaders -- well-known faculty at UNT, notable UNT alumni and Denton community leaders -- will begin the dinner conversations by discussing their expertise. No more than eight people are seated at each table.

This year's dinner begins at 6 p.m. in the clubroom of UNT's Apogee Stadium, which is located at 1251 S. Bonnie Brae St. Tickets cost $75 per person and must be purchased at the Honors College website. Proceeds from the event directly benefit Honors College students by supporting scholarships and programming.

The 27 conversation leaders for this year include:

• Dave Barnett, former play-by-play announcer for the Dallas Mavericks and Texas Rangers, and now the radio voice of UNT football and men's basketball.
• UNT alumna Blythe Beck, who gained celebrity chef status with her own show on the Oxygen network and recently opened a new restaurant, Pink Magnolia, in Dallas.
• Singer, songwriter and pianist Jessie Frye, recently named the Best Pop Act in the 2015 Dallas Observer Music Awards.
• Texas Monthly writer Skip Hollandsworth, whose latest true-crime book about a serial killer who terrified Austin residents in 1885, will be published in April.
• Robert Mong, retired editor-in-chief of The Dallas Morning News who became president of the University of North Texas at Dallas in summer 2015.
