The Thursday Night Music Series at UNT on the Square art gallery returns for the spring season, providing an informal performance setting that allows listeners to come and go as they wish.
Presented by the UNT Institute for the Advancement of the Arts and the College of Music, the concerts feature UNT students, faculty members, alumni and invited guest artists performing jazz, classical and other genres of music.
The series starts March 7 with a performance by doctoral guitar student Armin Abdihodžić. The series wraps April 25 with a performance by members of the Maniacal 4 Trombone Quartet. Maniacal 4 is made up of alumni from the College of Music who recently released a CD of classic rock songs performed on trombone and whose YouTube cover of the Kansas classic “Carry on Wayward Son” has become a viral video hit with nearly half a million views. Their performance will be followed by a performance from College of Music vocal studies professor Jennifer Lane and piano professor Steve Harlos.
