Shari Schwartz will join the University of North Texas as registrar on Feb. 1, 2020. As registrar, Schwartz is a key partner in helping to advance academic initiatives and promote the overall mission of the university.

Shannon Goodman, UNT’s vice president for enrollment, says Schwartz will be a valuable asset to UNT and will help identify opportunities for innovative change in service delivery to our students, faculty and staff.

"Shari brings a wealth of expertise with her," Goodman said. "She has extensive experience serving as a registrar at student-centered research universities and has also held positions in enrollment planning specifically focused on student success.”

Schwartz comes to UNT from the University of South Florida, St. Petersburg where she served as registrar and is currently the regional assistant vice chancellor of enrollment, planning and management. Prior to joining USF, Schwartz was the registrar at Georgia State University for seven years. She also has served in registrar positions at State University of New York and Syracuse University.

“UNT is a growing, dynamic university and that presents tremendous opportunities for doing work that will really make a difference for students and faculty. I am excited to join the team,” Schwartz said.

Schwartz received her Bachelor of Science in newspaper journalism and a Master of Science in English education from Syracuse University. She is currently completing her Ph.D. in literary studies from Georgia State University.
