Press passes available to Ta-Nehisi Coates speech at UNT March 12

What: Author, editor and educator Ta-Nehisi Coates will speak March 12 (Thursday) as part of the University of North Texas Distinguished Lecture Series. Coates will discuss millennials and social justice in his speech.

Where: UNT's Auditorium Building, at 1401 W. Hickory St.

Ticket info: Student tickets are free and student guest tickets are $5; UNT faculty, staff and alumni tickets are $8 and tickets for the public are $10. All tickets may be purchased online.

Schedule: Doors will open at 7 p.m., speech will begin at 8 p.m.

Media Credentials: Credentials can be reserved by contacting Leslie Minton at Leslie.Minton@unt.edu or 940-565-4835. Credentials can be picked up at the Hickory Street entrance to the Auditorium beginning at 7 p.m. March 12.

Credentials must be reserved by 5 p.m. on March 6 (Friday)

Media Instructions:

  • Coates will not be available for interviews.
  • Photography and videography are permitted for the first five minutes of the event only.
  • An audio feed will be available for the first five minutes of the event only.
  • No flash photography.
  • Photographers should be as unobtrusive as possible and limit movement as to not cause distractions.
