DENTON (UNT), Texas -- Eric Affeldt, president and chief executive officer of ClubCorp, will speak at the University of North Texas as a part of the Department of Hospitality and Tourism Management’s Executive-in-Residence Lecture Series. Affeldt will discuss his career and path to becoming the president and CEO of ClubCorp.

The free lecture begins at 10 a.m. in the ballroom of UNT’s Gateway Center, which is located at 801 North Texas Blvd. in Denton. Affeldt is also offering an opportunity for students to network with him after he speaks.

“The Executive-in-Residence Lecture Series offers a continuous platform for students to learn from top hospitality industry executives about industry trends and professional career development,” said Lea Dopson, chair of the Department of Hospitality and Tourism Management.

Affeldt has served as CEO of ClubCorp since December 2006. ClubCorp is a multinational company that owns or operates more than 150 golf and country clubs, business clubs, sports clubs and alumni clubs in 25 states, the District of Columbia and two foreign countries.

“We are extremely honored to have Mr. Affeldt engage with our students and share his career achievements and the success of ClubCorp as a leader in the hospitality industry,” Dopson said.

Prior to his work with ClubCorp, Affeldt was the president and CEO of KSL fairways Golf Corporation, and the president of General Aviation Holdings, Inc. He also serves as the national vice president of the Muscular Dystrophy Association, a member of the World Presidents' Organization and on the board of directors for Cedar Fair LP.
