DENTON (UNT), Texas – After serving as the University of North Texas' artist -in-residence, Pulitzer Prize winning playwright Doug Wright will be honored with a farewell reception.
Hosted by UNT's Office of the Provost and Institute for the Advancement of the Arts, the public reception begins at 7 p.m. Feb. 26 (Friday) at UNT on the Square, 109 N. Elm St., in downtown Denton. A program highlighting Wright's work will begin at 7:30 pm, followed by a question and answer session. All the evening's events are free.
Wright, who won the Pulitzer Prize and Tony Award for his 2003 play, I Am My Own Wife and penned the musicals The Little Mermaid, Grey Gardens and Hands on a Hard Body, worked with UNT students and conducted research during his tenure.
