David Reynolds named associate VP of facilities for UNT

DENTON (UNT), Texas -- David Reynolds, recently retired deputy director of the U.S. Air Force Civil Engineer Center at Tyndall Air Force Base in Florida, has been named associate vice president of facilities for the University of North Texas.

In announcing the appointment, Andrew Harris, UNT vice president for Finance and Administration, said, “Col. Reynolds has an outstanding 30-year record in facilities management with the Air Force. His leadership and expertise will be invaluable as the university continues to grow to meet the needs of the North Texas region.”

As deputy director of the Air Force Civil Engineer Center Reynolds led a 1,600-person civil engineer field operating agency responsible for providing a full-spectrum of installation engineering services.  AFCEC has more than 75 locations worldwide.

Reynolds also served as commander, U.S. Air Force Civil Engineer Support Agency at Tyndall Air Force Base; director, Installations Programs and Construction Headquarters, U.S. Air Forces Europe, Ramstein Air Base, Germany; and director, Military Community Center Construction Headquarters U.S. Air Forces Europe, Ramstein Air Base. He also served in Washington, D.C., Nebraska, Portugal and Iraq.

Reynolds holds a master’s degree in national security and strategic studies from the U.S. Naval War College, Newport, Rl, a master’s degree in civil engineering (construction engineering) from Clemson University, a master’s degree in political science (public administration) from Midwestern State University and a bachelor’s degree in civil engineering from the Georgia Institute of Technology.

Reynolds is a registered professional engineer and a fellow in the Society of American Military Engineers.
