DENTON (UNT), Texas -- The University of North Texas College of Music's choral students and faculty are joining forces this holiday season to present the family-friendly Sounds of the Holidays concert on Dec. 3 (Thursday).

The concert features songs from the A Cappella Choir, University Singers, Concert Choir, and Men's and Women's choruses. There will be a large brass ensemble and organ, as well as an audience sing-along featuring classic holiday songs. Tickets are $3 per person.

"This concert is UNT's gift to the community during the holidays," Dr. Richard Sparks, director of choral studies said. "It's a chance to hear beautiful singing, brass playing, and the wonderful organ in Winspear Hall. We hope everyone will come and enjoy the sounds of the season."

There are two exciting new additions to this year's program – a milk and cookies reception in the Brock Grand Lobby following the performance, and a toy drive. Anyone in the giving spirit can donate a new, unwrapped toy beginning at 1 p.m. on Dec. 3 at the Murchison Performing Arts Center.

"We are proud to be partnering with WFAA's Santa's Helpers this year," Megan Heber, director of communications and marketing for the College of Music said. "This toy drive directly provides for Denton County families in need. I would love to see a toy donated for every seat in the hall – 925!"
