Students in the College of Visual Arts and Design at the University of North Texas will show off their work at the 56th annual Voertman's Art competition. Students will gain practical hands-on experience in crafting and showcasing their masterpieces, which are judged by an experienced fine arts professional.

Fine Art appraiser Rachel Blackburn Cozad judged this year's contest. Cozad, the owner of Rachel Cozad Fine Art and Madison Group Fine Art Appraisal in Kansas City, Mo., has more than 25 years of experience in fine art analysis.

The competition was created in 1960 by Paul Voertman, founder of Voertman's bookstores in Denton. Students are eligible to win cash prizes.
