Authored numerous books, including Early Childhood Education Today 8th ed.; Fundamentals of Early Childhood Education; The World of Child Development; Education and Development of Infants, Toddlers and Preschoolers, and The Contemporary Curriculum: K-8. Co-founded the Child Development Research Center at the Edinboro University of Pennsylvania and the Educational Research Center for Child Development at the North Miami Campus of Florida International University. Developer of Success for Life, a brain research-based early childhood program currently implemented with more than 4,000 children in 40 early childhood programs in Texas and the Success for Life Center at Kasetsart University in Bangkok, Thailand. Member of the National Association for the Education of Young Children, the Society for Research in Child Development, American Educational Research Association, American Psychological Association, Association for Supervision and Curriculum Development, Association for Teacher Educators, Southwest Educational Research Association, and the Southern Early Childhood Association.
