Serves as director of the Ion Beam Modification and Analysis Laboratory and of the Industry/University Cooperative Research Center for Nanostructural Materials Research at UNT. Authored more than 175 refereed publications and has delivered more than 250 presentations at professional meetings. Serves as a consultant for Centrus Medical Technologies, Integrated Diagnostic Measurements, Inc., and Advanced Isotope Technology, Inc. Member of the American Physical Society, the Texas Academy of Science, the American Association for the Advancement of Science, and the Materials Research Society, among others. Holds a bachelor's degree in mathematics and physics from the University of Memphis and a master's degree and doctorate in physics from the University of Georgia. Has Authored 2 book chapters, holds 4 patents and $6.5 million in research grants and contracts at UNT
