UNT College of Arts and Design faculty and staff show off art
DENTON (UNT), Texas — Award-winning and nationally recognized artists in the University of North Texas College of Visual Arts and Design will exhibit their work in the upcoming Faculty and Staff Exhibition.
Reflecting the wide range of talent in the college, pieces will include paintings, sculptures, drawings, jewelry design, fashion design and new media works, among others. More than 40 faculty and staff members will submit pieces to the exhibition.
For the first time, the exhibition will be featured at two venues: UNT Art Gallery and UNT on the Square.

UNT's A Cappella Choir celebrates 75 years with concert
What: The College of Music’s A Cappella Choir presents Blessed are they… a celebration of its 75th anniversary season. The concert features Herbert Howells’ Take Him, Earth, For Cherishing, written for President John F. Kennedy’s memorial service, and Benjamin Britten’s Rejoice in the Lamb, in honor of what would have been Britten’s 100th birthday.

UNT Fine Arts Series presents "West of Memphis"
What: The UNT Fine Arts Series presents the documentary “West of Memphis,” which follows the “Paradise Lost” movies about the West Memphis Three, a group of three men who were convicted of murdering three children in 1993 and later released when new DNA evidence came to light. “West of Memphis” delves specifically into the efforts to free Damien Echols, one of the three men, and posits a theory about the real killer. A panel discussion immediately follows the movie.

Dallas director brings apocalyptic play to UNT Theatre
What: The University of North Texas Department of Dance and Theatre presents Marisol, a story about a New York woman who loses her guardian angel to a fight against God and navigates the apocalyptic times facing humanity. Guest directed by Christie Vela. Guest scenic designer is Scott Osborne.

UNT Opera enchants with Massenet's version of Cinderella
What: UNT Opera presents Jules Massenet's Cendrillon, based on Charles Perrault's classic tale of Cinderella and her fairy godmother. Performed in French, with English supertitles.

UNT exhibit shows collaboration of art, metabolic science
What: Metabolic Science in Art, a juried art exhibition that stemmed from a collaboration of UNT College of Visual Arts and Design and Chemistry professors and students.
When/Where: Nov. 8 to 23 at UNT on the Square, 109 N. Elm St., Denton. Hours are 9 a.m. to noon and 1 to 5 p.m. Monday through Friday with extended hours until 8 p.m. Thursday; and 11 a.m. to 3 p.m.

UNT early music ensembles perform Vespers of 1610 edition prepared by College of Music students
What: UNT College of Music’s Collegium Singers, members of the Baroque Orchestra and guest artists give two performances of Claudio Monteverdi’s Vespers of 1610. The edition that will be performed was prepared by 10 College of Music students and music history professor Hendrik Schulze.
