Pop artist and painter Ron English, UNT alumnus, builds Brandit Pop Mart at UNT on the Square
What: New York based painter, designer and street artist Ron English, a University of North Texas alumnus, will be in Denton presenting a week-long site-specific installation that explores advertising and agribusiness as a part of the Mary Jo and V. Lane Rawlins Fine Arts Series. At the end of the week, gallery visitors will be able to obtain a piece of artwork at the Barter Market, which gives a piece of art in return for a donation of a needed item for the Denton County Friends of the Family nonprofit group.

UNT to host Comic Studies Conference
What: The 2014 Comics Studies Conference at the University of North Texas, featuring keynote speaker Kate Leth, creator of the webcomic "Kate Or Die!"

UNT Concerto Competition winners perform March 5
What: The UNT Symphony Orchestra performs in concert with the fall 2013 College of Music Concerto Competition winners and student conductors.

Two UNT College of Music students receive Herb Alpert Young Jazz Composer awards
DENTON, Texas (UNT) – A senior and a doctoral student studying jazz at UNT's College of Music were among only 27 composers nationwide who recently received Herb Alpert Young Jazz Composer awards.
Established by The ASCAP Foundation in 2002 to encourage gifted jazz composers under the age of 30, the winners from UNT are senior Addison Frei, who also won the award last year, and doctoral student Keith Karns.

UNT offers expertise to Dallas Children's Theater to create sensory friendly programming for special-needs audiences
Bright lights and loud noises in a theater might be uncomfortable to a child with autism.
To make the theater experience more enjoyable, staff members from the University of North Texas Kristin Farmer Autism Center are serving on a panel of experts from the Dallas/Fort Worth area helping the Dallas Children's Theater plan its first-ever season of sensory friendly programming.
