DENTON (UNT), Texas – The public can view a wide variety of artwork at the 2014 Annual Faculty and Staff Exhibition, featuring the works from employees at the University of North Texas' College of Visual Arts and Design.

The free exhibition will run from Nov. 6 (Thursday) to Dec. 6 (Saturday) at the UNT Art Gallery, 1201 W. Mulberry St., and from Dec. 4 (Friday) to Jan. 15 (Thursday) at UNT on the Square, 109 N. Elm St.
A reception will take place from 5 to 8 p.m. Dec. 4 (Thursday) at both venues.

About three dozen faculty and staff members are expected to participate, with media including painting, sculpture, metalwork, photography, ceramics and printmaking.

"Because it's so diverse, there's going to be something for everyone," said Tracee Robertson, director of UNT Galleries. "You will see exemplary work from 36 artists who teach and live in our community. We present this exhibition every year, so audiences have an opportunity to see how artists are working right now and how the works evolve over time. As a resident of Denton, you have that same kind of opportunity to develop familiarity with regionally and nationally known artists who live and work here."

Herbert Holl, director of the Institute for the Advancement of the Arts, the organization that runs UNT on the Square, said the exhibition educates the public about its mission to promote artistic and creative expression.

"When they come in, it opens their eyes," Holl said. "They have more information and knowledge about what we have to offer."
