DENTON (UNT), Texas -- The University of North Texas' Printing and Distribution Solutions department has won several awards and recognitions this year from professional organizations.

"Our staff focuses on quality through the entire printing process – from pre-press to binding to shipping," said Lora Connaughton, director of Printing and Distribution Solutions.

Printing and Distribution Solutions, which is part of UNT's University Relations, Communications and Marketing division, prints a variety of items for UNT. Course books, brochures, posters and recruitment viewbooks are a few of the products Printing and Distribution Solutions helps to design, create and mail.

"Our goal is to help administration recruit and retain students for UNT," said Connaughton.

The most awarded Printing and Distribution Solutions product so far this year is the UNT Dallas College of Law booklet, which won the highest awards in the In-Print 2015 Contest and the Association of College and University Printers 2015 Awards Competition.

The booklet was highly recognized because it features several pages full of crisp images and contains a lot of the color blue, which is extremely difficult to print without variations in the color, according to Connaughton.

"We have about 230 years of experience between all of us at Printing and Distribution Services," said Connaughton. "These awards will gain us recognition from our college and peer community, and they will let university administration know that we can compare with anyone, whether commercial or educational."

The competitions and the UNT projects that were awarded in them include:

In-Print 2015 Contest - For projects produced by in-plant print shops, including commercial, education and government in-plants. Several large corporations like World Bank, Kohler and Nestle Purina were featured in the competition, which speaks to the level of quality to which Printing and Distribution Services' products were compared. The contest was sponsored by In-Plant Printing & Mailing Association and In-Plant Graphics Magazine.
