DENTON (UNT), Texas -- The University of North Texas will welcome Nammi, a food truck offering Vietnamese fusion dishes, to campus today.

UNT Dining Services has contracted with Nammi to offer the UNT community classic Vietnamese dishes, such as banh mi, Vietnamese tacos and spring rolls. The truck will be located on Ave. A on the east side of the UNT Language Arts Building from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Tuesdays and Thursdays.

Previously, UNT has hosted Lee's Grilled Cheese, The Angry Fryer and Twisted Grub food trucks.

"Food trucks on campus are a great way to introduce students to new culinary food trends in an affordable and portable way and the Nammi Truck is one of the most popular food trucks in the North Texas food truck culture," said Ken Botts, director of special projects for UNT dining services.

Nammi's specialty is banh mi, a Vietnamese sandwich, featuring either BBQ pork, grilled pork, lemongrass beef or chicken or Vietnamese veggie tofu, and topped with thinly sliced cucumbers, sweet pickled carrots and daikon, chili peppers and garlic mayonnaise. The truck also offers Vietnamese beverages, such as fresh Basil Mint Lemonade and Vietnamese iced coffee.

The Nammi Truck's full menu is available at online.

UNT Dining is a self-supported food service department with five dining halls, 16 retail locations, one full-service restaurant and a full-service catering department. For more information on the new dining options, visit UNT Dining Services online or follow them on Facebook (UNT Dining Services).
