DENTON (UNT), Texas -- Victor Prybutok, Regents Professor of decision sciences at the University of North Texas, has been named vice provost for UNT's Toulouse Graduate School.

"Dr. Prybutok is a proven leader with a strong history of supporting graduate studies at UNT," said Finley Graves, provost and vice president for academic affairs at UNT.  "Not only has he previously worked within the Toulouse Graduate School, but he's also helped build our research programs within the College of Business and he's done an outstanding job overseeing the College of Information."

Prybutok, a UNT faculty member since 1991, has served as interim dean for UNT's College of Information since January 2016 and will continue in that position while serving as vice provost. His other administrative positions at UNT have included associate dean for graduate programs and research in the College of Business, associate dean for academic affairs for the Toulouse Graduate School and doctoral program director for the College of Business. He also directed UNT's Center for Quality and Productivity for 17 years.

"The decision to attend graduate school is a life-changing decision. Education is transformative not only to the individual, but also to the society that benefits from the contributions that people with advanced degrees are capable of making," said Prybutok. "My promise to UNT graduate students is to provide an environment in which you can flourish academically and emotionally, find a mentor, engage in research and graduate as a member of an elite group that will make a difference."

Prybutok previously taught at Drexel University in Philadelphia, where he earned a bachelor's degree in cooperative biological sciences, master's degrees in both environmental health and bio-mathematics and doctoral degree in environmental analysis and applied statistics.
