DENTON (UNT), Texas --  Dr. Srinivasan Srivilliputhur, an associate professor of materials science and engineering in UNT's College of Engineering, will participate in the National Academy of Engineering's fifth Frontiers of Engineering Education symposium Oct. 27 – 30 (Sunday – Wednesday) in Irvine, Calif.

Srivilliputhur was selected to participate in the event along with more than 70 of the nation's most innovative young engineering educators.

"This symposium gives me a great opportunity to meet and network with our nation's leading engineering education innovators, to learn from them, and disseminate my ideas," Srivilliputhur said.

Faculty participating in the symposium have developed and implemented innovative educational approaches in engineering disciplines.

"The Frontiers of Engineering Education program gives top university faculty a special opportunity to engage together and critique new, innovative teaching techniques," said NAE President Dan Mote. "Collaborations among these education experts are vital to developing new teaching practices for all engineering faculty who will prepare engineering students for the problems of our time."
