UNT to graduate more than 4,000 in Spring 2013

What: Spring commencement ceremonies at the University of North Texas

When: Doctoral and master's commencement ceremony at 3 p.m. May 10 (Friday);

Baccalaureate commencement ceremonies at 7 p.m. May 10 (Friday) and 9 a.m., 1 p.m. and 5 p.m. May 11 (Saturday)

Where: UNT Coliseum, southeast corner of Highland Street and North Texas Boulevard at 600 Ave. D

DENTON (UNT), Texas –  More than 4,000 students will receive degrees from the University of North Texas this spring. Commencement ceremonies are set for May 10 and 11 (Friday and Saturday) in the UNT Coliseum, which is located on the southeast corner of Highland Street and North Texas Boulevard at 600 Ave. D.

The ceremony for doctoral and master's degree candidates will be held at 3 p.m. May 10 (Friday), and undergraduate commencement ceremonies are set for 7 p.m. May 10 (Friday) and 9 a.m., 1 p.m. and 5 p.m. May 11 (Saturday).  This fall, 3,225 undergraduate students, 755 master's students and 79 doctoral students applied for graduation.

The undergraduate commencement ceremony at 7 p.m. May 10 will feature graduates from:

  • College of Information
  • College of Music
  • College of Visual Arts and Design
  • Frank W. and Sue Mayborn School of Journalism
  • College of Merchandising, Hospitality and Tourism

The undergraduate ceremony at 9 a.m. May 11 will feature graduates from:

  • College of Arts and Sciences

The undergraduate ceremony at 1 p.m. May 11 will feature graduates from:

  • College of Public Affairs and Community Service
  • College of Engineering

The undergraduate ceremony at 5 p.m. May 11 will feature graduates from:

  • College of Education
  • College of Business

Graduates and their guests are invited to commencement receptions on May 10 and 11. The reception on May 10 will take place from 4:30 p.m. to 7 p.m. for doctoral and master's degree candidates as well as those undergraduate candidates graduating at the 7 p.m. ceremony. The reception on May 11 will be held from 10:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. for all other undergraduate candidates. Both receptions will be at the UNT Gateway Center Ballroom, located on North Texas Boulevard between Eagle Drive and Highland Street and adjacent to the Coliseum at 801 North Texas Blvd.
