UNT fall exhibitions feature international photographers, faculty and alumni artwork

DENTON, Texas (UNT) – The UNT galleries of the College of Visual Arts and Design will host a variety of exhibitions this fall, presenting the best in art and photography from UNT and around the world.

UNT Art Gallery
Location: 1201 W. Mulberry St. in Denton, on the first floor of the Art Building
Hours: 12 – 5 p.m. Tuesday; 9:30 a.m. – 8 p.m., Wednesday and Thursday; 12 – 5 p.m., Friday and Saturday
Cost: Free admission

Discoveries of the FotoFest Houston Meeting Place
What: The exhibition will feature the works of photographers from the United States, Europe, South America and Asia. The works were selected by curators from FotoFest Biennial of Photography and Photo-related Art in Houston. The event is sponsored by the Mary Jo and V. Lane Rawlins Fine Art Series.
When: Sept. 11 (Thursday) – (Saturday) Oct. 18
More: A gallery talk by curator Natasha Egan, director of the Museum of Contemporary Photography in Chicago, will take place at 12:30 p.m. Sept. 23 (Tuesday), with a reception to follow.

2014 Annual Faculty and Staff Exhibition
What: The works of artists in the College of Visual Arts and Design, one of the most comprehensive art programs in the nation, will be on display at two UNT art galleries.
When: Nov. 6 (Thursday) – Dec. 6 (Saturday) at the UNT Art Gallery.
Dec. 4 (Friday) – Jan. 15 (Thursday) at UNT on the Square, located at 109 N. Elm St. in Denton. 
Details: A reception will take place from 5 to 8 p.m. Dec. 4 (Thursday) at both venues.

UNT ArtSpace Dallas
Location: University Center Building, 1901 Main St. in Dallas
Hours: 5 – 8 p.m. Thursday, 10 a.m. – 2 p.m. Friday and Saturday
Cost: Free admission

Alumni Showcase
What: This show features three CVAD graduates who have achieved national recognition and received one of the Dallas Museum of Art's Awards to Artists. The works of photographer Rachel Cox, painter Xiaoze Xie and mixed media artist Elliot Johnson will be on display.
When: Oct. 4 (Saturday) – Dec. 6 (Saturday)
