DENTON (UNT), Texas -- UNT's Early Childhood Music Program continues to offer classes for infants to elementary school children, ages newborn to 7.

The classes, taught in room 115 in the College of Music Annex, begin Feb. 20 for the Friday track and Feb. 21 for the Saturday track and run for 10 weeks. This year a new class for elementary school children ages 5-7 has been added to the Saturday track.

"Babies who love music will grow into adults who love music," said Christina Svec, assistant director of the Early Childhood Music Program. "Providing a rich environment full of quality music experiences early on will encourage musical growth and development for music learning later in life."

Registration is preferred by Feb. 13, but the program will accept participants later if space allows. Additional children may attend at a 10 percent discount. An adult should be present for each child.

"We had an amazing time adding folk dancing to the curriculum last semester," Svec said. "I'm really excited about bringing out more instruments in the kinder class, including xylophones and a dulcimer."
