UNT community bands together to help students during Mean Green Move-In
What: Mean Green Move-In at the University of North Texas -- UNT students get help from UNT administrators, faculty and staff members and students as they move into residence halls at the start of the fall semester.

DENTON (UNT), Texas -- University of North Texas students will get helping hands -- and a lot of them -- as they move into residence halls during the university's Mean Green Move-In event Aug. 25 (Saturday).
UNT administrators, faculty and staff members and representatives of student organizations will roll up their sleeves to help with everything from checking students into their rooms to hauling boxes of belongings into the residence halls.
"They'll give our students a friendly and warm welcome as they get settled at UNT," said Carmen Garza, residence life coordinator.
Volunteers are available from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. Aug. 25. A cookout with music will be ongoing from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. in Crumley Park near Crumley Hall, 1621 W. Highland St. Food will be available in the cafeterias at West, Bruce and Victory halls. Plans also call for some 200 gallons of lime margarita-flavored ice cream -- made on campus by Dining Services -- to be served to returning students that day to welcome them to campus.
Nearly 6,000 students are expected to live in UNT residence halls this semester.
