DENTON (UNT), Texas -- University of North Texas faculty and graduate students will displays posters to illustrate their research conducted in UNT's Castleberry Peace Institute during a free program at UNT on the Square March 11 (Wednesday).

The event will be from 7 to 9 p.m. at the gallery, located at 109 North Elm Street on the west side of the Denton Courthouse Square. The posters will illustrate the latest findings on the causes and consequences of violence and conflict around the world.

Housed in the UNT Department of Political Science, the Castleberry Peace Institute was established by UNT's Peace Studies Program in 2010 in collaboration with Peacemakers Incorporated, a nonprofit organization founded in 1987 by Dallas resident and retired Dallas Times Herald journalist Vivian Castleberry. The institute, the first and only peace science and human security research institute in Texas and the Southwest, sponsors cutting-edge research, educational, and public outreach programs on why, when, and where conflicts occur within and between nations, and what strategies national governments and the international community can employ to reduce the risk of renewed violence once conflicts have been brought to an end.
