Press passes available to Oct. 21 Jose Antonio Vargas event at UNT

What: Pulitzer Prize-winning journalist, filmmaker and undocumented immigrant Jose Antonio Vargas will speak Oct. 21 as part of the University of North Texas Distinguished Lecture Series. Vargas will discuss the changing American identity.

Where: UNT’s Main Auditorium at 1401 W. Hickory St.

Ticket info: Tickets are free for UNT students and $2 for student guests; $3 for UNT staff, faculty and alumni; and $5 for the general population.

Schedule: Doors will open at 7 p.m., speech will begin at 8 p.m.

Media Credentials: Credentials can be reserved by contacting Leslie Minton at Leslie.Minton@unt.edu or 940-565-4835. Credentials can be picked up at the Auditorium beginning at 7 p.m. on Oct. 21.

Credentials must be reserved by 5 p.m. on Oct. 19 (Monday)

  • Vargas will not be available for interviews.
  • No flash photography.
  • An audio feed will not be available during the event.
  • Photographers should be as unobtrusive as possible and limit movement as to not cause distractions.
