Press passes available for Adam Savage, Jamie Hyneman event
What: Adam Savage and Jamie Hyneman, co-hosts of Mythbusters, speak to students at the University of North Texas Sept. 24 as part of UNT's Distinguished Lecture Series.
Where: UNT Coliseum, 600 Avenue D, at the southeast corner of North Texas Boulevard and Highland Street.
Schedule: Doors will open at 5 p.m. The event will begin at 7 p.m. The event includes a moderated interview, audience Q&A and videos. No demonstrations will be performed and no myths will be busted on stage.

UNT has signed an agreement with Barnes & Noble College as the new operator for the UNT Bookstore. Barnes & Noble College is set to take over operations of the university bookstore on Aug. 8.
Robert M. Citino, professor of history at UNT, has been selected to serve as a Visiting Professor at the U.S. Army War College in Carlisle, Penn., during the 2013-14 academic year. He will assist in teaching core and elective courses within the college’s Department of National Security and Strategy. He will also conduct college-wide lectures and presentations, and lead faculty research and writing efforts.
Tomas Mantecon, associate professor of finance at UNT's College of Business, has been chosen to participate in the Fulbright U.S. Scholar Program for the 2013-14 academic year.
Eric Nishimoto of Prosper, a student at the UNT Frank W. Mayborn Graduate Institute of Journalism, was named a National Winner in the Photo Illustration category of the Society of Professional Journalists’ 2012 Mark of Excellence Awards.
Ellie Meyer, A Radio, Television & Film senior, took first place in the UNT Fine Arts Series 12th annual Songwriter’s Competition. She received an invitation to the legendary Kerrville Folk Festival that hosts more than 100 songwriters over 18 days in May and June.
