Jane Gilday speaks in UNT College of Business speaker series

DENTON (UNT), Texas -- Jane Gilday, managing director of Dallas-based investment firm Barrow, Hanley, Mewhinney and Strauss, will discuss her career, leadership skills and industry issues in the UNT College of Business Distinguished Speaker Series.

Gilday will speak at 10 a.m. Nov. 21 (Friday) in Room 170 of the Business Leadership Building, 1307 W. Highland St. in Denton.

Admission is free.

Gilday began her career as a securities analyst with Argus Research and then worked for several New York City firms, including Spencer Trask and First Boston. She later worked as a research analyst at Tucker Anthony and Advest. In 1998, she joined Barrow Hanley as a research analyst. She took on portfolio management responsibilities and was named a partner in 2001.

Gilday is a member of the Chief Executives Roundtable, UNT Foundation Board and UNT Foundation Investment Committee. She also serves on boards of the Washington and Lee University Williams School and TexProtects, which advocates for abused children in Texas. She has previously held board memberships for Boys and Girls Clubs of America and the Madison Square Boys and Girls Club.

Gilday graduated cum laude with a bachelor's degree in economics from Smith College.
