As you prepare stories for the start of the school year in Texas, with most school districts setting the first day of school for the week of Aug. 24, consider these University of North Texas experts who will discuss parenting issues and other issues that arise as a child or teenager adjusts to a new school year.

Paul Goebel, director of UNT's Student Money Management Center, will discuss how parents can spend wisely on school expenses throughout the year, whether it's buying school supplies in bulk and timing purchases carefully for elementary and secondary school students or, for college students, considering the expense of having a car on campus and shopping around for textbooks.
