University of North Texas College of Visual Arts and Design’s Lauren Cross, lecturer in interdisciplinary art and design studies, and art education doctoral student Ellie Ivanova were selected to be 2018 visiting artists for the Dallas Museum of Art. The Center for Creative Connections – or C3 – invites artists from a variety of disciplines to participate in the development and facilitation of educational programs and spaces at the Dallas Museum of Art.

Award-winning playwright and director Moisés Kaufman will serve as 2017-18 artist-in-residence for the Institute for the Advancement of the Arts at the University of North Texas, bringing in the collaborative process that he created for such plays as “The Laramie Project.

The University of North Texas College of Music's Early Childhood Music Program exposes young children – infants to age 5 – to a rich, music-filled environment.

The National Association of Schools of Art and Design has named Greg Watts, dean of the University of North Texas College of Visual Arts and Design, as their accreditation commission chair and a member of the executive committee and board of directors. NASAD is an organization of more than 360 accredited educational institutions that establishes national standards for art and design undergraduate and graduate degrees.

University of North Texas faculty and alumni are part of projects that have received nominations in 10 categories for the 60th annual Recording Academy Grammy Awards. Nominations, which include UNT alumna Maren Morris, who was nominated this year in the Best Country Solo Performance category for “I Could Use a Love Song,” were announced on Nov. 28.

The University of North Texas’ Texas Fashion Collection is part of a new exhibition that forms a link between high fashion and British art.

“On Bodies: Highlights from The Goss-Michael Foundation and the UNT Texas Fashion Collection” will run through Feb. 2 (Friday) at the Goss-Michael Foundation in Dallas.
