The University of North Texas is one of only a handful of area universities to screen Leonardo DiCaprio’s latest environmental documentary Before the Flood. The Radio, Television and Film Department is presenting the film, which outlines dramatic changes happening around the world due to climate change, at 7 p.m. Oct. 29.

The University of North Texas Opera and Symphony Orchestra will present Mozart’s Le nozze di Figaro, “The Marriage of Figaro,” a comedic tale of love, infidelity and forgiveness. Directed by David Ward and conducted by Stephen Dubberly, the performances will take place at 8 p.m. Nov. 4 and 11 and 3 p.m. Nov. 6 and 13 in the Lyric Theater at the Murchison Performing Arts Center.

Two students studying math at the University of North Texas have won the Actuarial Diversity Scholarship, an annual scholarship awarded to students who are intent on pursuing a career in the actuarial profession.

The University of North Texas will present the classic play, The Siege of Numantia (El Cerco de Numancia) by Miguel de Cervantes, with some innovative twists. The play depicts how villagers react when the Roman Army comes into their Spanish town of Numantia in 133 B.C.
