The University of North Texas Division of Advancement achieved its highest annual fundraising total ever with more than $30.1 million in commitments. 

Thursday Night Music is back on the downtown square. The series, hosted by UNT on the Square, features jazz and classical music from students and faculty from the University of North Texas’ College of Music. The event is sponsored by the Institute for the Advancement for the Arts, the arm of UNT that supports creative and artistic expression.

A sabbatical from teaching and a book about the Middle East helped change Matthew Bourbon’s art. Bourbon, associate professor and program coordinator of drawing and painting at the University of North Texas, will present his works during the solo exhibition, “Sense and Reason,” Oct. 6 (Friday) – Nov. 11 (Saturday) at UNT on the Square. A reception will take place from 5 to 7 p.m. Oct. 6.

More than 8,900 refugees were resettled in Texas in 2016, with nearly half arriving in the Dallas-Fort Worth area. The Refugee Summit will focus on issues in resettlement and integration faced by refugees.
