Yan Wan

Yan Wan, an assistant professor of electrical engineering in the College of Engineering, has earned a National Science Foundation CAREER award. The CAREER awards are the NSF's most prestigious awards supporting junior faculty who exemplify the role of teacher-scholars through outstanding research, excellent education and the integration of education and research.

2015 Presser Scholarship - Brendon Wilkins

The UNT College of Music has named jazz studies and music education student Brendon Wilkins of Saratoga, NY, the 2015-16 Presser Scholar and recipient of the $4,200 Presser Scholarship.

Each summer, UNT's College of Music opens its doors to music students whose ages and levels of experience span a wide range. From elementary school students, to college graduates, students and professionals, those who want to learn more, fine tune their musical skills, or build on their knowledge of music instruction are invited to apply for the College of Music's summer workshops.

UNT was ranked in the top 50 sustainable universities in the guide which recognizes institutions of higher education in the U.S. and Canada that demonstrate notable commitments to sustainability in their academic offerings, campus infrastructure, activities and career preparation.

Bob Mong

Bob Mong, editor emeritus of the Dallas Morning News who held many roles at the newspaper during 36 years, will receive the C.E. "Pop" Shuford Hall of Honor Award from the University of North Texas' Frank W. and Sue Mayborn School of Journalism.

Denton ISD Superintendent Jamie Wilson

Juniors in Denton ISD who rank in the top 20 percent of their class will earn guaranteed admission to UNT. In addition, this year's Denton ISD seniors who rank in the top 20 percent will be grandfathered into the program, receiving automatic admission to UNT.
